Art and Ornamentation
Artwork, jewellery and ornamentations.

I painted this a long time ago from the artist Bob Ross and it reminded me of the far north and the first tree.

“I’ll have quite a scar. D’you mind?”
“Of course not, it’s a part of you.”

After having scanned and traced the maps at the beginning of each book, I put them all together on Procreate, adding details where there were gaps and adding the various symbols found throughout the series. I then inked it onto a 3m tall piece of wallpaper and hung it up in my room like a tapestry: this is a picture of the final piece! All credits go to the original artist, as I mostly traced their work 🙂
I have lots of pictures and videos of my creative process that I can’t upload here, but can be found on my fan account on Instagram @pack_sister
One of the rare calm winter walks.

I’m twelve years old and I love to draw – this is a rook/raven/crow, which I hand-painted with graphite and watercolour pencil.
I think that this is what Rip and Rek in Michelle Paver’s books would look like, so I hope that other people think so too 🙂

At the end of wolf brother, wolf howls farewell to torak so I decided to illustrate this amazing piece of literature, my favourite ending to a book in a while

This is about Torak and his thoughts. He is one of my favourite characters!

I was astonished that no-one seems to have made art out of Naiginn yet, so I decided to take the initiative.

In our school we had the first two books of the chronicles and I really loved them!!! The stories are so good. That motivated me to make a film. But as I have heard, there is one being made. Maybe I’ll get to make a short trailer or so. Because of this idea I began to draw a lot of sketches and suddenly I thought that Renn would look back, also though I never think of characters’ faces when I read something.
I hope you like it 😊

Our class was given the challenge of creating a piece of art or an object linked to the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness series. Our artwork includes: Renn’s bow, the demon bear, a soul eater mark, ravens, Wolf and our own invented clans.

This is my latest drawing of Torak and definitely my best so far. I read Vipers daughter basically as soon as it came out and was inspired to try drawing Torak again as I had not tried drawing him for a few years. For this picture I decided to do some research into Stone Age clothing whilst drawing as I wanted to get some historical accuracy into my art.

This is a mix of the elements of modern pop culture, memes and Torak’s world. I have used the style of a famous meme called ‘To Be Continued’ where there is a build-up in the video and the screen freezes just in the moment of danger or failure. I made this during a time when I learnt that an artist should reflect his socio-economic-political-cultural elements of his life in his work. For me, memes is something I have grown up with since the rise of the internet. I love you and your books, Michelle. Stay safe. I resent this as it is in video format. Just on the safe side.

I’ve been re-reading Wolf Brother recently whilst I’ve been stuck in quarantine and I was so excited when I heard there was a new book coming out! This is a picture I drew of Torak, the man, the myth, the legend (I wish I could have drawn Wolf too but I’m not confident enough haha)
#ClanChampion

As a young teen, I spent my Sunny Summers delving into these books, I was overjoyed when I found out there was another.
I drew this drawing of Wolf a few years ago, It remains my favourite piece. Wolf is a pretty complex character, he has alot of sides and features, I hope I could do him justice.

This is a FanArt in virtual, representing my three favorite characters of the books: Renn, Torak and his relative, Bale, in a funny group hug (although Torak want to run away hahhaha) I loved to do this, even though taked many time. My artist signature is MATILDA, for sign my arts and my draws. But this draw is 100% mine. I really love the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness, those books marked my adolescence, and teached me many beautiful lessons. Really, thanks Michelle Paver, for the wonderful experiences into your books. These universe of Torak and Wolf changed my life in many aspects.

An expression of my favourite book characters “Torak and Renn” . Depicting pain , fear , strength and love

A painting I did many years ago while reading the wolf brothers series. I was inspired by the idea of cave art and the personal and iconic symbology throughout the series. I think of this as a painting of my name soul, as each hand print is unique and personal.

A painting inspired by the the ice mountain at the edge of the world in Vipers Daughter and the colours of the sky at night and the first tree (northern lights).

Dark and his white raven, Ark, after being adopted as Raven Mage.

This painting is inspired by the third book of the series. It shows what I imagine the area where the book took place, would look like. The title is inspired by black ice.

A coal drawing of a raven representing the Raven Clan

When going on a hunt, some hunters, like Renn, put feathers in their hair, to be more lucky. I took the Alula Feathers (from a part of a wing, that would be like the thumb on a human hand) from a Jackdaw and a kestrel and connected them with a wooden pearl.

I painted these stones when I was younger (about 7 years ago) because I love the covers of the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness books. There is not much else to say, I just wanted to add them to the collection, though I am definitely not an artist! 🙂

My sister and I loved the Chronicles of Ancient Darkness when we first read them more than ten years ago, and we were thrilled to see it is coming back! We can’t wait to see what happens next with Torak, Renn and the gang!
(P.S. the caveman drawings in the corners of the piece are based on the original covers of the first series.)
Stay safe!

My three favourite characters in the COAD series, enjoy 🙂

Nef, member of the Bat Clan and the Soul Eaters. Her thoughts are said to fly faster than a bat.

Portrait of one of the best protagonists ever, Torak. I’m so thrilled he’s back in my life with Viper’s Daughter.

“To be a Soul Eater means you have to give up everything you ever were, everything you ever could have been.”
―Fin-Kedinn
These are one of my favourite villains in all of the books I have read. My Soul eater symbol commemorates each of the seven soul eaters and their clan creature/ tree.

The scene in Viper’s Daughter where Torak comes face-face with a mammoth took my breath away, and I knew I had to recreate it.
Painted with Indian Ink, watercolour, and a lot of patience!

Inspired by Torak’s first journey to the Sea.

The ancient transition represents how time has changed the world …
I painted this piece using acrylic and oil paints for my school GCSE project when I was sixteen years old and it was based on the first book I ever completed reading.. you guessed it! Wolf brother!
I have been in love with the series ever since.
This painting awarded me with a grade A in art at school and I am very proud of it still (I’m now 28 years old)!
I cant wait to complete the chronicles of ancient darkness series again and finally get stuck into vipers daughter!

“To be a Soul Eater means you have to give up everything you ever were, everything you ever could have been.”―Fin-Kedinn
The soul eaters haunt Torak’s world, these powerful seven mages that Torak and wolf had to vanquish in order to succeed.

Renn from Raven Clan

So I just read Viper’s Daughter and of course, I am obsessed, so I am submitting this sketch of my favourite character and all the things I associate with her. Can’t WAIT for Skin Taker!

Everyone always draws the main characters, but how about the “bad guys” (not all of them are bad). Without the soul eaters, stories wouldn’t even exist. Plus, I really like Thiazzi. So here is the gang (even though, this scene is impossible, since Thiazzi misses his fingers, after Fa’s death, Tenris’ scroches and the Walker goes crazy).

This is my hand drawn map of the world of Torak, Renn and Wolf. I based the map on the maps from the books. I made this map in Paint.
